"The Ladies Maggot" is an English country dance tune in 6/4 time and G major.<br> The parts are played AABB.<br> It first appeared in the 11th edition of Playford's Dancing Master (1701) and<br> was continued through the 18th and final edition of 1728. The dance instructions<br> "Longways for as many as will" describe a line dance.<br> It was printed in<br> Barlow's Complete Country Dance Tunes from Playford's Dancing Master (1985).<br>
