"The Fisher Laddie", also known as "The Fairy Dance" is an English country dance tune in<br> 2/2 time and D major.<br> It is known in England and northern England. It is a version of the<br> Scottish reel "The Fairy Dance" or "The Fairy Reel".<br> This melody is similar to the American tune "Old Molly Hare".<br> The Northumbrian air and country dance tune (reel) "Fisher Laddie" is a different tune.<br> It was printed in<br> Sharp's Sword Dances of Northern England: Songs and Dance Airs, Book 3 (1913) and<br> Karpeles and Schofield's A Selection of 100 English Folk Dance Airs (1951).<br>
