"Little Daisy" is an American reel in cut time and A Major. It is often played in AEae fiddle tuning. The parts are played AABB.
This is a moderately paced tune, slower than a reel but a bit faster than a march. It was perhaps derived from a song. The tempo has increased somewhat by more recent players, but still goes at a leisurely pace for a breakdown.
The tune was played by Pat Kingery (1912-c. 1976, Nobob, Barren County, Kentucky). One of Barren County's most popular musical groups in the mid-twentieth century was Kingery's band The Kentuckians, who recorded some sides for the Goldenrod label.
The banjo tablature is by John Letscher. The standard notation version is based on his rendering.
Maybe because of the rhythm, the B part brings to mind "Shove that Pig's Foot a Little Further into the Fire" in this section.
Luke Richardson and Adam Hurt play the tune on youtube.
