"Where Have All The Flowers Gone" was written by Pete Seeger.
The song was inspired by a passage from Mikhail
Sholokhov's novel And Quiet Flows the Don with additional verses by Joe Hickerson.
It is one of the best known anti-war songs of the Vietnam era. It was recorded by Peter, Paul & Mary and almost everyone else singing folk music in the 60's. Also by Pete Seeger in this section: "Bells of Rhymney", "Turn, Turn, Turn". |
