This song was collected in Sussex before 1840. This tune was collected in Somerset by Cecil Sharp and appears in One Hundred English Folksongs. Sharp prints only the first two verses. The extended chorus is euphemistically sexual, which is not unusual in English country songs. I learned this from Steeleye Span's recording on their Below the Salt album.
