"Little Birdie" is one of the classic tunes of old time banjo. In Pete Seeger's How to Play the 5 String Banjo he shows the tab for gCGAD tuning. My tab is in standard G (gDGBD) tuning. Some players use a tuning that's known as "Little Birdie" tuning: f#DABE or eCGAD. In Art Rosenbaum's book, the version is based on Pete Steele's who plays a kind of Seeger basic strum as did Roscoe Holcomb. It has been recorded by Ralph Stanley, Mike Seeger, Peggy Seeger, Clarence Ashley and just about anyone else you can think of.
