"Leavin' Home" is a version of the Frankie and Johnny story. I tell audiences that if you do the chorus in one breath you win a prize. It was recorded by Charlie Poole and the North Carolina Ramblers in 1925. It is included in the Anthology of American Folk Music, recorded by Mississippi John Hurt as "Frankie". I learned it from the New Lost City Ramblers. The New Dimension String Band played this with me doing ornamented melody on fiddle behind John playing Charlie Poole style banjo and singing with Mel and Perry on guitar and bass for rhythm.
