"The Johnson Boys" is a traditional fiddle/banjo dance tune and song. It is often used as an instrumental and some or all of the verses are sung at the whim of the band. It was recorded by Al Hopkins and His Buckle Busters, The New Lost City Ramblers and Dan Gellert & Brad Leftwich. It has been printed in Vance Randolph's collection of traditional Ozark Mountain fiddle tunes (1954), The New Lost City Ramblers Songbook, Anne and Frank Warner's Traditional American Folk Songs and Alan Lomax's Folk Songs of North America.
