"Don't You Cry Melinda" is an American song in G. It is probably either a minstrel or a vaudville comedy song. I haven't been able to get any detailed information on this song. The tune is related to "Do Round My Lindy", recorded by Fiddlin' John Carson and Ray Knight and "Don't You Cry My Honey" by The Skillet Lickers. It was recorded by Grandpa Jones on Strictly Country Tunes (1959)and Bob Siggins and Bill Vanaver on Old Time Banjo Project (1964). I learned this from the Siggins/Vanaver recording. The tune is really easy to play on just about any instrument.
