"The Rover Reformed", also known as “Bavania” is an English country dance tune in 6/8 time and D Minor. The parts are played AAB. The melody and directions for a country dance were printed by John Young in the second volume of The Dancing Master, or Directions for Dancing Country Dances (3rd edition, 1718) and (4th edition, 1728). It also appears in rival publisher John Walsh’s Second Book of the Compleat Country Dancing Master (1719). It was printed in Williamson's English, Welsh, Scottish and Irish Fiddle Tunes (1976). It does not appear in any version of Playford's original series. This version is from Williamson.
