"Mr. Lane's Minuet" is an English minuet in 3/4 time and D Minor. The parts are<br> played AB or AABB (Barlow).<br> It was published in the 9th edition of Playford's Dancing Master (1695).<br> The tune and directions for the dance were published in the various editions of<br> John Walsh's Complete Country Dancing Master (1718, 1731, 1754).<br> Dance instructions were also entered into the 1730 copybook of James Alexander<br> (New York).<br> "Mr. Lane's Minuet" is attributed to Mr. Lane who was dancing master to Charles II,<br> who also composed or is associated with "Lane’s Maggot" and "Mr. Lane's Trumpet<br> Minuet".<br> It was printed in<br> Barlow's Complete Country Dance Tunes from Playford's Dancing Master (1985),<br> Playford's Dancing Master (1695) and<br> Walsh's Complete Country Dancing-Master, Volume the Fourth (1740).<br>
