This 16th century air was published Playford in the first<br> edition of The English Dancing Master (1651) and was retained<br> through the eighth, published in 1690. The words are not known.<br> Shakespeare mentions a "Heart's Ease" in Romeo and Juliet (act iv sc. 5).<br> However, whether this is the dance or tune that Playford printed<br> is not known. There was another melody, an almain by Anthony Holborne,<br> composed in 1599 with the same title.<br> It was also printed in Chappell's Popular Music of the Olden Time (1859)<br> and Sharp's Country Dance Tunes (1909).<br> It was recorded on Country Capers by The New York Renaissance Band.<br>
