"Granny's Delight", also known as "Graney's Delight" is an
English country dance Tune in cut time and F Major. The parts are played AABB. The parts are not
symmetric: the A part has four measures and the B part has 8 measures.
"Graney's Delight" was first printed with directions for a country dance in Henry Playford's
Dancing Master, supplement to the 11th edition (1702). It was retained in the series of
Dancing Master editions through the 14th edition of 1709, after which it was dropped.
It was printed in Elias Howe's Musician’s Omnibus Nos. 6 & 7 (1880-1882) and
Barlow's Complete Country Dance Tunes from Playford's Dancing Master (1985).
