"Glastenbury" is an English country dance in cut time and A major.<br> I don't know why the title is given as "Glastenbury" instead of the standard<br> "Glastonbury". The only "Glastenbury" I can find is a ghost town in Vermont but that<br> wasn't chartered until 1761, some 48 years before the publication of the tune.<br> It does not appear in Playford's Dancing Master series but was printed by John Young<br> who published the last six editions of The Dancing Master. He printed this tune in<br> The Second Volume of The Dancing Master in 1713. To confuse things a bit, Young's<br> Second Edition and the subsequent Third Edition were separate from editions 13 - 18<br> of the original Dancing Master series.<br> It was also printed in Barlow's Complete Country Dance Tunes from Playford's Dancing<br> Master (1985).<br>
