One of the few tunes in the Phrygian mode (E to E on the white keys of the piano - intervals: h-W-W-W-h-W-W). It is listed in Chappell's Popular Music of the Olden Times where he references its use as a ballad tune in both Roxburghe's and Pepys' collections. It has been recorded by The Baltimore Consort on A Trip to Kilburn and The New York Rennaissance Band on Country Capers.
