"O’Carolan’s Concerto", also known as "Mrs. Poer" or "Mrs. Power" was composed by O’Carolan in honor of Mrs, Power of Coorheen. The "concerto" title comes from a story that when O’Carolan heard an Italian violin concerto, he declared that he too would compose one and this is the result. It is printed in Williamson's English, Welsh, Scottish and Irish Fiddle Tunes (1976) and Ossian Publications The Complete Works of O’Carolan (1984). It has been recorded by The Chieftains, Derek Bell, Robin Williamson and others.
