The "Jerulsalem my happy home" lyric is attributed to "F. B. P.", an unknown writer
of the 16th century. The lyrics are also sung to "Jerusalem", "Southwell", "Materna",
"Land of Rest",
and at least 29 other melodies.
The melody is attributed to William Bobo. It was printed in Walker's Southern Harmony (1835), The Sacred Harp and Jackson's Spiritual Folk-Songs of Early America (1937). |
