"We Won’t Go Home Till Morning", also known as "Malbrook", "Marlbrouk", "Marlbrough" and<br> "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow" is an English, French, Irish air, country and Morris dance<br> and Jig tune in 6/8 time.The tune probably originated in 18th century France. Kidson (1915)<br> reports it was a favorite with Queen Marie Antoinette, who learned it from a peasant woman<br> brought in to nurse her child.<br> It was the vehicle for a morris dance collected from the village of Bidford, Warwickshire, in<br> England's Cotswolds.<br> Karpeles & Schofield specify playing the parts ABA and repeating BA until done.<br> It was printed in Bacon's The Morris Ring (1974), Hopkins's American Veteran Fifer (1905),<br> Karpeles & Schofield's A Selection of 100 English Folk Dance Airs (1951), Merryweather's<br> Merryweather’s Tunes for the English Bagpipes (1989), Raven's English Country Dance Tunes (1984)<br> and Sharp's Country Dance Tunes (1909). <br> Besides "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow" the tune is also used for "The Bear Came Over the Mountain"<br> that we all knew as kids.<br>
