"Three Meet", also known as "The Pleasures of the Town" is an English jig in<br> 6/8 time and D Major. The parts are played AABB.<br> The tune takes its title from the prominent country dance figure set to it.<br> "Three Meet" is the tune and dance collected by Peter Kennedy in northern<br> England and stipulates that "three face three, the gentleman with two partners",<br> with the last figure given as "'Threes cuddle up', Arms linked behind backs to<br> form basket. Swing with pivot step".<br> The Gloucestershire version of this country dance is called "The Swedish" or<br> "Three Meet".<br> This version of the tune is from Sharp.<br> It was printed in Karpeles & Schofield's A Selection of 100 English Folk Dance<br> Airs (1951),<br> Sharp's Country Dance Tunes (1909) and<br> Country Dance Tunes, vol. 2 (1911-1922).<br>
