"Oyster Girl" is an English jig and morris dance tune in G Major and 6/8 time. It was known in Northumberland, England. The parts are played AABB (Hall & Stafford, Sweet) or AABBC (Kennedy, Raven, Wade).
The tune used for a single step dance in the North-West England morris dance tradition.
The melody was entered into several English musicians' copybooks, including those of James Blackshaw (North Shropshire, 1837), James Winder (Lancashire, 1835-41) and R. Hughes (Whitchurch, Shropshire, 1823).
